The Big Blue Adventure Sprint takes place at Joseph D. Grant County Park in San Jose, CA (about one hour south of San Francisco). The park encompasses 9,553 acres on the foothills of the Santa Clara Valley with over 40 miles of trails, making it a prime destination for all types of outdoor events, including adventure races, mountain biking and running events.
The Big Blue Adventure Sprint is suitable for those new to adventure racing. With estimated 2 to 4 hour finish times, it provides a great introduction to the sport. The sport is for teams of two (all male, all female or coed). All participants will kayak, mountain bike and travel on foot through the trails of the park. Team members must stay within 100 meters of each other throughout the event.
The event is part of Seventh Wave Productions' Big Blue Adventure Series, which also includes XTERRA Tahoe City, Tahoe Big Blue, Ocean Blue Sprint, Red Tail Adventure Race and Silver Sage, among others.
