Dan Benintendi's 100 Mile Endurance Challenge (100EC): 2013 Fundraising FIESTA!
In 2008 I weighed 400 pounds and could not walk to my car without losing my breathe. Since that time, I have completed 4 full 140.6 Mile IRONMAN Triathlons, and competed in 6 Running Events that are 100 miles or longer, the longest of which was October 2012 when I ran 164 miles in 72 Hours. This year I will be competing in my 4th year here at 100EC. We run 100 miles in 30 hours or less. Yes, I do this for personal achievement, but I have made this race a priority because of the imparitive roll The 100 Mile Club can play in the lives of our children.
I promise I will do my part and run 100 miles on October 19th, I ask for your help in supporting this great organization and the youth who cannot afford to take part in it without your help. My goal is to raise $2500 for our youth, which in turn, will allow 250 children the opportunity to be involved in this incredible program and feel the sense of accomplishment that comes from setting and achieving a challenging goal.
If I have ever done anything that has, in the least bit, inspired you, please take a moment and give whatever you can. I do NOT ask for donations / contributions for any other race that I compete in, this is the only one! Please do what you can to help make "Childhood Obesity" a thing of the past. We must take action and let those actions inspire change. In life, and in sport, people will sometimes believe what you SAY, but they will always believe what you DO!
