The mission of the Main Street Mile is to eradicate prostate cancer as a life threatening disease by advancing awareness, education and screenings.
The Main Street Mile is a group of events designed to promote greater public awareness of men’s health issues while specifically advocating the benefits of education, awareness and early detection of prostate cancer.
Main Street Mile will raise resources and funds from the public (grants, sponsorships and participant fees) and use the funds to collaborate with the Drive Against Prostate Cancer to provide free prostate cancer screenings to men in the Treasure Valley over 4 days and at 4 different locations. Funds will also be deposited with the Main Street Mile Men’s Health Fund (housed with Idaho Community Foundation) which currently offers grants for innovative projects in the area of prostate health and prostate cancer education, outreach and screening, especially targeting services not otherwise available to medically underserved populations and/or areas of Southwest Idaho (counties of: Ada, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, Washington).
