Over the years I have gained a love and passion for cycling and a desire for TZEDAKAH. Tzedakah is Hebrew for: To Give Back… To be Righteous… To do the Right Thing. The DEATH RIDE Tour… Ride To Defeat ALS fulfills those needs and since its inception has become a very rewarding experience, not only for myself, but for the over 600 participants who have conquered the very challenging, 235 mile, 16,500 feet of climbing loop in Southwestern Colorado. My father, Irvin Sopinsky died of ALS at the age of 45 when I was 13. He battled this horrible disease for 7 years. The DEATH RIDE Tour… Ride To Defeat ALS is a registered 501c3 Non-Profit and all the proceeds are donated to the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the ALS Association and the Blazeman Foundation War on ALS.

Michael Cimbura's 2017 DEATH RIDE Tour VIII ...Ride To Defeat ALS ...For Those Who Care
As many of you know I am currently battling this horrible disease ALS. I'm asking you today to support my quest to participate in the 2017 DEATH RIDE Tour ...Ride To Defeat ALS ...For Those Who Care. ALS is a nervous system disease that weakens the muscles and impacts physical function. Still very rare with around 20,000 cases in the US per year. Currently there is no cure, however, with your support and help maybe someday we'll find a cure together. Most common age groups are 20 - 60+
ALS - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis - is most commonly know as the Lou Gehrig's disease after the famous Yankee Baseball player.
Barry Sopinsky - President & Founder of the DEATH RIDE Tour has been supporting the War on ALS since 2009. Barry lost his father to ALS when he was 13 after a 7 year battle.
So please consider donating today to support myself and my family. I plan on riding again in the DEATH RIDE Tour with a custom built bicycle that will be powered by my team mates over the 235 miles and 16,500 feet of climbing.
Thanks again so much. " What We Do For Ourselves Dies With Us, What We Do For Others Remains And Is Immortal" Albert Pike
