The Race Across USA is a 140-day stage race across the United States. It begins January 16, 2015 in Huntington Beach, California and ends 140 days later at the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. The goal of this race is to raise awareness about childhood “inactivity”, to raise money for the 100 Mile Club® and to sign up as many schools as possible along the way.
Inspired by the 1992 Olympics, special education teacher, Kara Lubin, used the dream of becoming a gold medalist to inspire her hard-to-motivate students. That year, The 100 Mile Club® was born from a simple idea, run 100 miles and earn a medal. With incentives given along the way, including our unique milestone t-shirt, lessons in goal-setting, determination, and team spirit are delivered alongside exercise. The 100 Mile Club® now has in over 600 schools in all 50 states (October 2013). In fact, last year, this dynamic organization went international, adding schools in Canada, Japan and New Zealand.
The 100 Mile Club® is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. Tax ID #20-8425786.
Address: 2191 Fifth Street, Suite 211 Norco CA 92860
Just $10 can pay for a kid to participate in the program for one year which includes a T-shirt and a finishers medal. For Kid's that don't have very much it's a pretty big deal.
I was overweight growing up and I loved sports but running? Not so much!
I have seen first hand how the 100 mile club has transformed the lives of children that were just like me. By building confidence through comradery rather than competition the 100 mile club gives children a goal to reach, makes running fun and helps eliminate childhood obesity in the process!
Thank you in advance for all you support. The 100 mile Club is a non profit organization that I hold dearly to my heart.
I am giving rewards to people who donate at least $30 please go here to find out more:
