The Santa Monica High School administration has agreed to add CIF Varsity Lacrosse for boys and girls for the current school year – meaning CIF varsity lacrosse games in the spring of 2014. CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) lacrosse teams are school-run teams, which only play against other CIF teams. This means Santa Monica High School can now play lacrosse in the Bay League against Palos Verdes, Culver City, Mira Costa, Peninsula, Redondo, Beverly Hills, and Downey, and play any other CIF lacrosse team in California, such as Palisades, Malibu, Loyola, Harvard-Westlake, and many, many others.
This is the culmination of a ton of effort by many people working behind the scenes, and we couldn’t be happier for current and future lacrosse players at Samohi.
Now it's our job to raise the money necessary to make this dream a reality. 100% of funds raised will go to boys and girls lacrosse teams at Santa Monica High School. As a start-up program, funding is needed to buy new helmets, uniforms, goals and balls, to line the field at Samohi for boys and girls lacrosse, and to fund all of the expenses of operating our new lacrosse teams. Your donation will provide the seed money to establish the legacy of Santa Monica High School Lacrosse, champions for many years to come!
