The 100 Mile Club® provides the opportunity to run or walk 100 miles at school during a single school year and is committed to improving school readiness to learn, creating better educational outcomes, building self-esteem and overall improved health in the lives of children and others.
We are a grass-roots non-profit dedicated to helping our children become healthy, happy, and connected...one child, one school, one community at a time.
Last year, I was introduced to the 100 mile club by running the 100 mile endurance challenge. I was so impressed with their approach to fitness for kids, that I went to one of their schools several times, and spoke about the benefits of running. These kids have so many options for after school activities, but they chose the 100 mile club, and they love it! The 100 mile club is able to reach these kids in a way that helps them to become self motivated, shows the students not only how to set goals, but gives them the platform to achieve them, and in doing so, rewards them for their commitment. A $10 donation can sponsor an under privileged child for a year, helping to instill a healthy lifestyle that can last a lifetime.
