The race starts on Long Sands Beach and continues out past Nubble Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouses in the US. There will be food and awards following the race at the York Beach ball field which is one block from the Short Sands Beach.
NAMI
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Maine Chapter of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness and other programs in the Seacoast area that raise awareness and de-stigmitize mental illness. NAMI provides educational programs and support to families that are directly affected by mental illness. They also educate schools and community agencies by identifying the symptoms and early warnings signs of mental illness.
