Like the other sprint adventure races put on by Seventh Wave Productions, the Folsom Lake Sprint is an ideal event for the beginner adventure racer, while still providing a challenge to veterans of the sport. The event is for teams of two people (all men, all women or coed) and is designed for finishing times of 2 to 4 hours.

The event takes place in the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, about 30 miles northeast of Sacramento, California. Teams will kayak, mountain bike and travel on foot through the lake and trails of the park.

The Folsom Lake Sprint is part of the Big Blue Adventure Series, which also includes XTERRA Tahoe City, Tahoe Big Blue Sprint, Big Blue Adventure Sprint, Red Tail Adventure Race, Castaic Lake Sprint Adventure Race, Ocean Blue Sprint and Silver Sage, among others.

KAYAKING
Participants will kayak 2 to 3 miles on Folsom Lake.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
There is 7-10 miles of mountain biking on a mixture of single track, double track, fire road and pavement.

FOOT TRAVEL
Teams will travel 3 to 5 miles on foot over single track, fire roads, sand and pavement.
