Run over lava fields deep into the back country of Hawaii Volcano National Park. A once in a lifetime experience. Not for the casual runner. Course is difficult and runners need to be careful while running through the course lava terrain.
Wear gloves and knee pads. Expect this marathon to be anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes slower than running on the roads.
Stay on the trails and watch your footing.
