The Lake Country 5k is a flat, fun and beautiful course that winds along wooded roads and lake sides. The event takes place on the same day as the Lake Country Half Marathon and provides a nice alternative to the longer course.

All participants receive a t-shirt, goody bag, and food and fun after the event. There is usually plenty of water and Gatorade along the course. Each mile on the run course is marked.

The Lake Country 5k is created by Midwest Sports Events.

The 5k course starts with the Lake Country Half Marathon participants and travels the same route for the first 1.5 miles before returning back to the start/finish line.

It is an extremely flat and fast run with only 51 feet of elevation gain on the entire course.

Awards are given to the first overall female and male winners. Age group awards are given to the top 3 male and female in 5 year increments: 8 and under, 9-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
