Formerly the Patriot Half Iron, this long distance triathlon (1.2 mile swim, 58 mile bike, 13.1 mile run) offers you a safe and scenic race, post-race festivities to enjoy after a long day on the course and an all around great race day experience.

course description

The Swim
The 1.2 mile swim will be a rectangular course in Long Pond. There will be separate entries for the swim start and swim finish. Lifeguards will be positioned throughout Long Pond on canoes and in boats for safety. Water temperatures are expected to be above 70 degrees F.

On the Bike
The Patriot Triathlon 2008 bike course will be a two loop course through the surrounding towns and includes crossing the scenic Pocksha Pond Causeway and plenty of scenic country roads. The bike course is generally flat with some rolling hills that will occasionally force you to get up out of the saddle. The bike course has been changed slightly from the course used at the 2007 Patriot.
There will be 1-2 water stations on the bike course.

On the Run
The 13.1 mile run is also generally flat and goes along back roads that take you by attractive scenery including farms, cranberry bogs and numerous water features. There will be aid stations roughly every mile on the run course.
