The Prospect Park Spring Duathlon is a fun and beautiful race that travels through some of the most popular places in Brooklyn. The race starts at the Willink Entrance in Brooklyn, New York (at the intersection of Flatbush Ave. and Empire Blvd).

The Prospect Park Spring Duathlon is put on by CityTri, who are the people behind the Bassman Spring Triathlon, [Upperman Duathlon], [Mother's Day Duathlon], [Tuckahoe Triathlon], [Tuckahoe Duathlon] and more.
The Prospect Park Spring Duathlon (in addition to the [Mother's Day Duathlon]) is part of the Gotham Cup Club Challenge.
Gotham Cup Club Challenge
The annual Gotham Cup Club Challenge is an opportunity for multi-sport clubs and teams to compete against each other in a three race series. All three races (including the Prospect Park Spring Duathlon and the [Mother's Day Duathlon]) are organized by CityTri and take place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
Any club can participate in the Gotham Cup, including those affiliated with USA Triathlon and those that are not USA Triathlon affliates. A club/team must consist of at least two people.
Points
The scoring is on a point system, where teams/club members score points for finishing each race among the top five teams/club members overall or among the top five age group finishers. Trophies and awards are presented to the leading teams/clubs at the last event in the Fall.
The 2008 Gotham Cup winner was the [Asphalt Green Triathlon Club], while second place went to the [Brooklyn Triathlon Club] and third place to [Team Life].
RUN
distance: 3.1 miles
The run is a very beautiful run through some of the most scenic parts of Brooklyn. Participants travel through Brooklyn's only forest, past it's waterfalls, under the Nethermead and East Wood Arches, through the Cleft Ridge Span Tunnel, over the Binnen and Esdale Bridges, and around the Long Meadow.
BIKE
distance: 14 miles
In between the runs, athletes bike four laps of a 3.35 mile loop that goes up gradual inclines, around long curves, and on fast flats. Whatever your biking strengths, you can figure out a strategic way to capitalize on this course.
RUN
distance: 3.1 miles
The second run is the same course as the first.
