The Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon is put on by Elite Racing, the masterminds behind the original [Rock 'n' Roll Marathon] in San Diego and a host of others ([Country Music Marathon], [Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio], Carlsbad 5000 and more).
The Arizona Marathon features 70 live bands along the 26.2 mile course as you wind through Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe. It is a qualifier for Boston and it is a course that allows for fast times. With less than 200 feet of elevation gain and a second half of the race that is all downhill, the Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon is known for a PR-friend race.
Average high temperatures are in the 60s and 70s, with normally cool and crisp temperatures in the 40s at the starting line. Be prepared to discard some layers.
For those not interested in running the full 26.2 miles the [Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Half Marathon] takes place on the same day and in the same location.
