Like the other sprint distance races from Seventh Wave Productions, the Tahoe Big Blue Sprint is an ideal event for people new to adventure racing, while still providing a challenge to veteran racers.

The Tahoe Big Blue Sprint takes place at Northstar ski resort, amidst the incredible beauty of Lake Tahoe (about 10 miles off the north shore). The Tahoe Big Blue Adventure Race is a celebration of the natural environment of the North Shore. Day-time temperatures are usually in the 80’s with the evenings cooling into the 60’s, the skies are deep blue with only an occasional afternoon thunderstorm rolling through (to help keep the dust down on the trails!).

The course is for teams of two people (all male, all female or coed) and is designed for finishing times of 2 to 4 hours. All participants will kayak, mountain bike and travel on foot through the North Tahoe area. Team members must stay within 100 meters of each other throughout the event.

The event is part of Seventh Wave Productions' Big Blue Adventure Series, which also includes XTERRA Tahoe City, Big Blue Adventure Sprint, Ocean Blue Sprint, Red Tail Sprint, Tahoe Winter Blue, Kit Carson 24 Hour Adventure Race and Silver Sage, among others.
